I thought That I should start putting some of my daily outfits on here Just for some variety. I acquired this dress From a local Vintage shop that was closing she had lots of goodies that a snagged up and this was one of my favorites along with the hat. I thought I looked very 1940's that day.

Spring time is here

Wow I've been dragging my feet with this Blog. My apologies , I have been sewing quite a lot. I am in the midst of a few projects one is of course my Corset that I'm coming along pretty well with. I am also starting a utility Kilt for my hubby for our hiking trip let me just say I love Making things for him because when he wears it I feel special. I will keep you posted on the kilts progress and also links to how to do it yourself. Next I will share my newest creation and first summer outfit of the year.
If you remember a few posts ago I scored two vintage Patterns one was a shirt and Pants/shorts pattern. I wanted to try my hand at the Shorts and shirt pattern and I think it turned out beautiful.

Hot Pants :)

I love these pants they are comfy and warm and were pretty easy to sew! because the pattern was two sizes to small I had to grade it up but it honestly wasn't to hard. I used Red Twill and the McCall pattern i got last week.

weekly creation

I Haven't been modeling my Clothes lately due to the fact I got that dress form for Christmas but I think that I should model the dresses I make at least :). because I am full figured I try to stay away from full skirts even though I love them because the make me look bigger :(. But I decided to try a reproduction pattern that I thought would work I dont think it does my curvaceousness justice but My hubby likes it.

I also have failed to get pictures of my little one in her Spiderman dress so I got some pics.

thanks for visiting my blog

Wild and crazy Vintage

Today I decided to go to a vintage store I have never been to Wild N Crazy vintage. I was looking for A Hat and man did I hit the Jack pot !!! as soon as I walked in I was in heaven. I found two beautiful dresses. And let me say that the owner knows her stuff . she has A lot of different Eras and they are truly Authentic.not to mention the selection of sizes. Its hard as you all know to find vintage in larger sizes because women were a lot thinner in the waist in the 40's-60's. but she has a lot to offer. here's what I got.

I'm a sucker for fabric covered buttons

the reason why I came to the store in the first place was to get a hat I think I spent a good part of an hour trying on hats :)

I told my hubby that I was dieing for Brown wrist length gloves and she had them.

Vintage finds

Went to Design Archives today to find some cute Vintage accessories I'm excited about what I got plus everything was on sale 20% off.

I've been wanting a vintage pants and shirts pattern like this just need to Grade it up 2 sizes :)

I had to get this one because it was a 1940's pattern in my size what are the odds and the fact that getting a hollywood pattern reasonably priced is impossible.

I'm loving this scarf

vintage hiking wear

My family and I are planning a hiking trip in may and of course I have to be difficult and insist on wearing vintage appropriate attire. So I went scowering the Internet for vintage pictures of women hikers. What I found was amazing. Not only were women tough they looked good while doing it. Most of these pics I found on maryvannote.com/

this was found because my Friend suggested i take a look at pictures for the movie "African Queen" with Catherine Hepburn , Humphrey Bogart, and Lauren Bacal

And of course no Vintage research is complete without including Marilyn Monroe
